The job of the brake pipe is to carry brake fluid, under pressure, from the master cylinder to the brake hoses. The system of pipes which moves brake fluid around all parts of the braking system is constructed of steel or copper. Once in place, the fluid acts upon the calipers and therefore brings the brake pads together against the surface of the disc, thus slowing the wheel.
In order for the brakes to function safely, the pipes have to be in perfect condition, meaning that the hydraulic pressure is maintained at optimum effectiveness. The fact that the pipes are made of metal, however, means that they are vulnerable to attack from rust and other forms of corrosion. If this is the case, they need to be replaced immediately and we can provide the best quality replacements.
